Middlesex didn’t give the match away easily to the opposition, as they fought back hard. The team reached 173 for the loss of eight wickets at the end of their allotted 20 overs.

The pitch was perfect for the batsmen and a high scoring game was expected. However, Hamilton-Brown was confident that his bowlers would be able to defend the target set by the team.
Surrey’s innings was started by Davies and Roy, who have been opening for the team regularly in the limited-over format. Both batsmen played exceptionally well, giving a flying start to their team.
92 runs were scored from the first nine overs of the innings, which put the hosts on the back foot. However, Roy was dismissed on the first ball of the 10 over after scoring a fabulous half-century.
The stylish opener scored 52 runs from 37 deliveries with the help of five fours and two huge sixes.
Davies was the next man to be dismissed in the visitors’ innings. The aggressive left-handed batsman clobbered 51 runs off 26 balls, timing eight lovely boundaries. The openers had laid a solid platform for the lower-order and the team appeared to reach
more than 200 at one stage of the innings.
Surrey’s captain was not able to make most of the good batting conditions and was dismissed after collecting 18 runs from 15 balls with the help of two boundaries.
Tom Maynard and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zander-de-Bruyn-c98565 batted until the end of the innings, contributing 48 runs for the fourth wicket partnership. They remained unbeaten on 27 and 21 in their respective outings.
