The hosts had set a target of 111 runs for the opposition, but it was not good enough in the end. Surrey chased the target easily without losing any wicket on the third day’s play.
Earlier, Leicestershire’s skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Matthew-Hoggard-c1926 opted to bat first after winning the toss. He expected the pitch to be easier for the batsmen, but the decision turned out to be a bad one in the end.
The hosts were bowled out for 167 runs in their first outing. Middle-order batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Robert-Joseph-Taylor-c86004 was the only player to make a solid impression, as he collected 70 runs for his side.
Leicestershire’s innings got off to a terrible start, as opening batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Matthew-Boyce-c1924 was dismissed early. He limped to 1 run off 14 deliveries in his struggling outing.
Seasoned player Will Jefferson was also unable to make most of the start he got to his innings and was dismissed after adding 14 runs to the total with the help of three boundaries.

Surrey’s Tim Linley was the pick of the bowlers in the innings, dismissing three batsmen in the opposition’s innings.
