Surrey’s skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rory-Hamilton-Brown-c2366 decided to bat first despite some showers before start of play. He expected the wicket to favour the batsmen, as the covers did not allow any moisture to sneak through.

outing.

http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Christopher-John-Schofield-c50881 struggled to keep the scorecard ticking and was dismissed after managing just 11 runs in his short stay at the crease.

Maynard’s innings shifted the momentum with the hosts, as he collected 60 runs off just 33 balls with the help of a couple of fours and 4 thunderous sixes.
De Bruyn also played exceptionally well. He got out in the last over of the innings, but had done the damage until then. The Proteas player scored 43 runs from 28 balls with the help of five boundaries.
Sussex’s http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Chris-Liddle-c1245 was in good form, as he took 4 wickets in the match. However, the opposition still got away with a solid total in the end.
