Surround sound help please?

Hi i have just bought a 32inch lcd tv which i am very happy about but as i play the xbox360 quite a lot i would quite like to see about getting a Surround sound set-up but i want to know how this connects to my tv so that i don't buy one that's Incompatible. also some general advice on surround sound would be nice. thanks to anyone that takes the time to answer:)

  1. There is an optical output coming from the back of your Xbox that you can plug into any compatible sound decoder.  As for your TV, only you will know what sound input/outputs you have!


  2. As Coldman has said, We don't know what audio-outs your TV has. The only advice I could give is note what connections you have and have a look at suitable Home cinema kits within your budget.

    Beware that some lower priced home cinemas that come with built-in DVD do not have any audio-ins so cannot be connected to any external devices. You need to make it clear to any salesmen what you intend to do with the kit.
