Question:

Surround sound hookup problem?

This is really a shot in the dark, but worth asking. I have this Panasonic home theater system (http://www.fixya.com/support/p231250-panasonic_sc_dk10_system)

but with no manual. I have it hooked up to the TV so DVD's can play through perfectly, but I can't find a way to hook it up so when I'm watching regular TV it plays through. Any ideas at all? Thanks in advance.

  1. I suspect that you have the audio out of the DVD player directly connected to the surround sound system. If the s.s. system has multiple input jacks you may be able to connect the TV audio out to the spare inputs, otherwise you will have to swap inputs as needed to take full advantage of your s.s. system.

  2. Okay, so Panasonic doesn't show this model anymore, I did a search and found it at this website which also has a scanned version of the user's manual, the specs. at the back indicate it does have an aux input for audio at the back. What you would do is take the tv audio output (rca red and white) and put those into the panasonic aux input. When you select the aux input on your panasonic your tv sound should play. If it doesn't you'll need to check your tv setup and make sure that both speaker and line out are active, if it says speakers, but not speaker and line then no signal is being sent to your stereo, If you only want your tv to play through your stereo and not the tv speakers then you would set the tv up so only line out is used.
