Surround sound is not working on regular channels?

We got a surround sound system and it is only working with the HD channels- not on the regular channels. How do we make it work on all channel?

  1. you can't get surround sound from any channel that is not sending(broadcasting) in surround sound.

    It would be like getting a color TV and asking why do some of the channels still show B&W on my TV, if its not sent out in color you don't get color so if its not sent out in surrond sound you don't get surround sound.


  2. You'll need to change the surround mode to Dolby Pro Logic when watching regular channels. Regular channels are only in stereo whereas HD channels could be in Dolby Digital.
