this is totally subjective but fishing ports have the advantage of really fresh fish. The black country is home of the battered chip, superb when they get it right. but at the end of the day its about friendly service and fresh clean food

All of the best fish & chip shops are in Devon and Cornwall near the coast. I cant name one in particular but I went to a few and they were all much better than what we have here in London.

I think i would have to say The Magpie in Whitby although coming from Harrogate myself, you are quite right that Gravelys is indeed very hard to beat!

I think the ones by the coast where they actually batter the fish and cook it fresh for you...

Dman it's good...

They also make a real good tar tar sauce...even with capers in it...

keady and armagh in n.ireland  m geowns chippies are traditional and youd find hard to beat
