I am putting some finishing touches on a paper in regards to global climate change (warming and cooling) and would like to input some of the publics view on this subject. If it's okay to use your name, state location, and response to the question in my paper, please tell me so with your answer.

Thank you for your help. It's better to ask than to assume that what you are reading online is actually a response to a question such as this.

Thanks Again.

  1. Of course.  It's been scientifically proven.

There's a lot less controversy about this is the real world than there is on Yahoo answers:

And vastly less controversy in the scientific community than you might guess from the few skeptics talked about here:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_...

    http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/fu...

EVERY major scientific organization has issued an official statement that this is real, and mostly caused by us.  The National Academy of Sciences, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Institute of Physics, the American Chemical Society, the American Geophysical Union, the American Meteorological Association, etc.

  2. Yes,if global warming has already happened then theres got to be an opposite to it.Isnt there?

  3. I think it's all political. The same guy that made up global worming drives a SUV - give me a break :-)

Do I believe in global warming: Yes. I often read the latest research from peer reviewed scientific journals and there is no doubt in my mind, a belief shared with mainstream science, that global warming is a reality. An interesting article I read recently suggested that the fact that many Americans believe there to be a scientific debate vis a vis global warming is in fact due to the media's "equal air time" approach to both opponents (the fringe minority) and proponents of global warming theories (the vast majority). In sum, yes global warming is, as Mr. Gore put it, an inconvenient truth. But it is just that: truth. Anyone who thinks otherwise has done no objective research and has more than likely relied on opinions and press releases instead of credible peer reviewed scientific research.

  5. It's neither.  The Earth's weather changes all the time and rain in January or snow in June while unusual is not time to start stocking up on survival gear.

  6. i believe that the earth goes through different stages of hot and cold during the years but i also think we are also helping the earth heat up even though it was going to do it anyways i think we are making it worse and we need to do evething we can to stop it

  7. Yes I do believe that there is such a thing as climate change which is a natural, inevitable cycle of the Earth.

No, I do not believe that humankind has any significant impact on climate.

Yes you can reference me (Stacey) from Sarasota, FL... previously from Anchorage AK.

And if I may offer a funny tidbit of info...  do you realize how many celebrities and politicians own mansions along the coastlines of Florida and California?  Don't you think that if they really bought into the disasters Global Warming brings that they would have sold off their beach-front properties (which of course will be under water in ten years) for a house in the mountains somewhere more inland?

    ...... interesting, no?

  8. I'm James, I live in South Carolina, and I'm a geologist.

Yes I do believe in global warming and global cooling.  Of course it has nothing at all to do with mans input, but is a natural process.

  9. i live in montana, it is now 78 degrees ferinheight and i don't belive global warming is real, if it was then why don't they say ho much the temperature has increased, with little information an increase of one degree could be concidered a disaster.

i believe it is politically modivated. if a scientist can convince someone with money like the government, that global warming is a problem, then they will get funding, overall global warming=money for scientists.
