I've seen many similar cases in all "Corleone" type films, where the "Family" kills people and then they go to the funeral shedding hot tears and giving condolences and any support to the widow....

So, it is....Hollywood justified!

Of course .. they don't hesitate to gouge your wallet, while you're alive .. so, they certainly wouldn't hesitate to do the same, when you're dead. :P

I think they let you off with a warning in that situation, but next time they will not be so lenient.

I think the reasons they have these laws isn't to punish but to deter. Like, a classic example is that it's illegal to commit suicide. I mean, really, what're they going to do to you?

I think though that there are some people that wouldn't kill themselves if it's illegal, and, also, I'm sure that it has uses in legal procedures.
