when i went to Six Flags some time in May or June (it was my first time ever..i know..so late) i went on the Kingda Ka...after the ride was over...i was shocked at what people said about it before i went on it..it was fun...but it only lasted 7 secs..and its the least bit scary...in fact...i think it was the least scary ride i went on the whole time i was there (excluding skull mountain and dark night[which is a waste of time btw])..and my friend who has been to Six Flags so many times before me..is still scared of going on it...so now i want 2 know everyone else's opinion on the Kingda Ka..any1 who's been on it or who hasn't been on it but already have an opinion on it..tell me wat u think :)

  1. Thought is was disappointing.

  2. i actually thought it was pretty thrilling, i do admit that it was too short, but that initial take off has the wow factor

  3. Kingda Ka is huge, and can be intimidating to many. First timers see this huge structure, and lots of vertical track, and there is that launch, too. As with many rides, it looks alot 'scarier' than it really is.

The most intense part of this ride is the launch. You are just sitting there, waiting, looking waaaaay down this length of track that goes vertical in the distance. Your nerves can get to you, knowing that in a couple seconds you will be flying down that track at speeds that could you get you into alot of trouble if you tried driving that fast on the highway!

The launch is intense, and I feared that I was going to lose my glasses even though I was wearing eyeglass straps. The rest of the ride is a blur. You barely have time at the top to realize how high you are. Once you figure that out, you are dropping back down, over the camelback, and there you are, back in the loading station. It takes a few rides to take it all in. Overall it is a fun ride, but it is short, and doesn't really last long enough to realize what exactly is happening. While I enjoyed Kingda Ka, I prefer rides that deliver more, and have more than a 7 second layout. In this park, I prefer Nitro and El Toro over Kingda Ka.

Kingda Ka's launch, height and speed is what intimidates people, but once the ride is over, many realize that the ride is not as 'scary' as they thought it would be.

  4. I didn't think it was scary at all.  Before I went on everyone made a huge deal about it and said it was the best rollercoaster there, and I was really disappointed when I went on.  It's only like 30 seconds and you don't have time to enjoy it.  I think the only good part is when you're at the top of the hill because it slows down and all the cars and stuff look really tiny.  It was really hard to keep my eyes open because of the wind so I didn't see a lot of it.  My favorites were Nitro and Batman, they were a lot better than Kinga Ka.
