  1. I've met Democrats, Republicans and Libertarians and Independents who homeschool. I am a registered Democrat.

  2. My parents (who homeschooled me) were Democrats all the way.  I'm now old enough to vote on my own, and my votes can usually go either way.  I have moderate views.

  3. We are Conservative independents. We're not  registered Republicans although we tend to vote more that way than Democrat. We don't like what the liberal party stands for.

We support the family rights and individual responsibility. The liberal party tends to vote against families and responsibility. They tend to be for putting everyone under a certain line on welfare and other government assistance. What about those of us who don't want assistance. Those of us who want to make it on our own?

I think abortion is murder and it destroys families. As does the g*y agenda. Democrats tend to think these things are wonderful.

The Republican party on the other hand tends to do thing like raise taxes and seem to be more for the rich. They do support the family and are typically against the things that are important to me. No same s*x marriage and no abortions.

If a Democrat seems like a good person to me and is more qualified than their opponent then chances are they would get my vote. Problem is that the candidates on that side are neither. Not that I'm a McCain fan either. This time around I'll probably vote for any one else on the ballot simply because I won't vote for any of those three.

  4. We are registered Republicans now, but seeings how there doesn't seem to be a good choice from any of the parties it doesn't really matter this year. We will probably change to independent next year. I vote to support family values and life so I guess we are considered conservatives. I wish the Democratic party would get back to the way they used to be and I may be registered as a Democrat. Now, to me, they are "anything goes" morally and "the government should bail everyone out", regardless on how they got into the situation they are in. I don't mind helping someone out, but I believe personal responsibility is important.

    edit:

Lets all agree on the same person to write in and campaign for them! lol

  5. republic

  6. I'm Canadian, so I don't know if this will apply or not. We aren't in a party. Whenever there is an election, we weigh the candidates and party stances and decide that way. We do tend to vote Liberal (equivalent of your Democrat), but I have voted Conservative at times in the past (kind of like Republican, but not quite as different from Liberal as Republican is from Democrat).

  7. We are unrepresented by either major political party.

We believe in the U. S. Constitution and the principles and ideals upon which our country was founded.  From our perspective, neither political party has much use for these.

We are not quite libertarian but that probably comes the closest...

Rather than vote for the lesser of two evils, this election we have decided to write someone in...

If enough folks do this, then maybe one or both parties will get the message or a viable third party will emerge.

  8. I'm independent. Kind of middle of the road really. I support g*y marriage, oppose abortion, oppose the current mission in Iraq (I think we should just make it ours), oppose No Child Left Behind, oppose welfare reform, support CPS reform, support legalization of weed, and oh, yeah- I support families right to homeschool without government interference!

  9. They are all over the map. Homeschoolers don't fit neatly into any little box!

  10. As with other questions, there is no answer that covers "most" homeschool families.  They are all over the map politically, religiously and personally - just like the families of school kids.

Homeschool families are people, just like everyone else.  :)

  11. Most home school families I've met are Libertarians.  The rest are evenly split between Democrats and Republicans.
