  1. What plan would crash?  The social security plan?  The government health plan?

I would use what ever I could.  I would try to first set up a source of good water and shelter, then go about getting food together.  I would go through the luggage, if it was Americans, they for sure would have enough Doritos and food stuff to last months.

I would set up something that was burnable for a signal, with like alcohol and matches nearby in a place that couldn't get wet.

Hey, the fishing would probably be great too.

  2. Start with the plane.  How many people survived the crash?  Any injuries?  Treat the injured first.   How bad is the damage?  Does the radio still work?   Try calling for help.  Can the plane be used as shelter?  Any food on board?  What survived in the luggage compartment?  If there are no other survivors, I would try to burry the bodies.

I would use the first aid kit, any firearms, clothes and food that can be salvaged.  If there is a flare gun, I would grab that too.

Divide up the survivors into work teams.  Medical professionals are in charge of the injured.  Everybody else is on one of the following details: firewood, food gathering, shelter building, scouting and scrounging.  If you are the sole survivor, you get to do it all.  Some teams can be combined if you are short people.  Firewood and scouting, food gathering and scrounging, shelter building and medical.  Scrounging party will also be responsible for finding drinking water.  Always boil your water before use.

Make some tools using the wreckage.  You will want something to cut firewood and something to dig with first.  A saw would be better than an axe, but you use what you got.  A stone axe will probably be better than one made from airplane aluminum.  You will want to dig a hole to burry the dead and a trench for a latrine.

Start gathering firewood.   You do not need a bonfire, but you will need something to keep all of you warm.    Build the fire away from the plane- you do not want to set off any spilt jet fuel.  Fire building with out a lighter or matches is easy if you have the right tools.  A magnifying glass (eyeglasses), flint & steel, or two pieces of dried  rough wood will work.  Use those stupid in-flight magazines as kindling and put somebody on fire detail (keeping it lit at all times and making sure it doesn't  spread away from where you want it.).

Next you need to figure out as much info as you can.  Is the island inhabited?  Your fist clue is if somebody wanders along to see what happened.  Otherwise, leave a note or somebody who can talk to any rescue party that happens to show up.   Find the beach and walk the circumfrence of the island-you are looking for a port or village.  Any cel towers, telephone poles, power lines etc should be investigated.  Damaging these will eventually bring a work crew to fix them.

Next, look for what can be eaten-stick with identifiable plants and animals.   If you don't find anything you recognize, try small portions, a bite or two, of something strange.  Mamals are your best bet with birds a close second.    You will want something big enough to feed the survivors without leaving a lot of carcase.  A water buffalo is great if there are 50 survivors, but for only two people, it is a waste.  That waste will only draw scavengers, which generally is not a good thing.

  3. i would use the people around me to survive. have them go find me my food and tender to my care.

i would use my cell phone and call the folks to come get me.

  4. Humans' basic needs are

    Shelter

    food

    water

    protection

These are the first things I would appropriate before considering any survival. I know that when people are facing life or death situations, they become very creative in working with what they have. Since I have not faced this particular situation, I am sure that even being creative will still have a constant array of trials and errors.

  5. I would salvage what I could from the wreckage. . . build a shelter with whatever materials I could find (cave would be nice). . . find a fresh water supply with food. . . and live happily ever after (for as long as possible:). . .  If I was rescued, that would be great. . . but I have done major survival trips on my own in the past with many months in total isolation and I enjoyed it very much :)  A strong and imaginative mind is a true blessing!!!

  6. DEPENDING WHAT WAS ON THE ISLAND AND I'D GO FISHING.
