Survival question. If you knew you'd be shipwrecked on an island....?

This is for a story.

Let's assume the island has fresh water.

What items would be the best to have with you, to help you survive? I don't mean like a 50-pound survival kit being one item, I mean actual individual items, like a knife, box of matches, etc.

either a fishing kit or a lighter.

i would have to say flint, for fire, a knife obviously, a tarp, for shelter if possible, umm thats all i can think of hope it helps!!

Fishing Pole, Tackle, Shovel, Knife

a pocket knife to kill and cut up animals, to cut fruit, and help cut supplies  to make something, like a shelter.

That's about all you would need. Perhaps a fish hook and some line, a hatchet, and a magnifying glass. The last one is for when you run out of matches or if they got wet. That's what always puzzled me about the show, Survivor, no one was smart enough to use what they had in front of them most times.
