Susanne Keller beats Noelia Jimenez in 2013 European Club Championships – Badminton news
Women’s Singles expert Susanne Keller played impeccable badminton in group stage of European Club Championships and defeated Noelia Jimenez on Wednesday, May 29, 2013.
This showdown was a part of match between Team Argovia and Recreativo Ies La Orden badminton clubs. Both contenders challenged each other in this crucial match and kept the audience glued to their chairs throughout the 25-minute tussle.
The Swiss campaigner, who was playing for Team Argovia, remained invincible in both sets of the match and won with a convincing margin of 21-19 and 21-17. On the other hand, the Spanish player also performed exceptionally well but luck was not on her side
as she had to face a straight-set defeat.
In first set of the match, Susanne launched an intensive attack and established a decent lead straight away in the beginning. She made the best out of this psychological edge and strengthened her grip over the game.
However, things did not remain the same as the Spanish player stormed back with a strong reply and brought life back to the contest. At first, Noelia levelled the score with a few productive rallies and then finished the first half of the set with a competitive
total.
The latter part of game was also played in a similar manner as both female shuttlers employed all of their brilliance in the game and earned great admiration. They snapped at each other’s heels and made the crowd gasp with a mesmerising performance.
Finally, this nerve-racking set reached its climax when Susanne registered a close yet decisive figure of 21-19.
The second set of match was also full of drama as both female shuttlers made every effort to achieve their respective goals. Initially, they remained close on the points table but then the Swiss lady struck hard and tipped the scale in her favour.
Susanne started the beating immediately after the mid-game break and played with an authoritative approach throughout this segment of the showdown. She maintained a respectable difference on the points table and raised hands as victor after putting a concluding
total of 21-17.
Her victory boosted the confidence of her teammates, as it was the maiden match point for Team Argovia.
