Which Linux OS is better to use at home?

I will use it mainly for programming, browsing and multimedia related activities. It should also be easy to mount external devices like mobile, usb etc.

  1. I would recommend Ubuntu, there will be no problem or require any additional drivers for you to mount any additional devices.

I haven't played with SUSE much, but all of them mount USB devices very well.  Ubuntu breaks up their Desktop and their Server offerings.  That makes for smaller downloads and a slightly less cluttered user interface if you know you only want to do one or the other.  If you tinker with both, Fedora may be quicker to get started.  Both use apt to update packages, but Ubuntu upgrades between full versions of the OS more stably.  You could always create a multiboot environment and run all three to decide.

  3. ubuntu is a free software so its not that good. try suse its the best of the three that you mentioned
