  1. they sell mostly raw fish, but they also have meats from warm- blooded animals. yes, they do have tables and chairs nowadays, and just try it, you'll probably fall in love with it. i definitely love sushi!

  2. No, it's not all raw fish. For instance, the Shrimp Tempura Roll. Just ask them to point out to you which ones are cooked and which ones are not if you don't want to try the raw ones. And of course they have tables and chairs. You should at least try a raw one. Maybe you'll like it!

  3. It's not all raw fish...actually, there's hardly ever raw fish, so don't order the sashimi...that IS raw fish. You're kinda dumb 'cause you should really know that there is a such thing as tables in a sushi restaurant...DUH!!! You must be a really picky eater, try the raw fish at least! GOSH!!!

  4. Some nicer places offer private rooms with the low table and pillows, but I've only come across that a few times.

There is a large quantity of raw fish, but it is actually usual treated, or it is 'sushi grade' so that there are little to no risk involved in eating it, however it is recommended you wait until your blood count returns to normal levels, just to be safe from possible infection.

Some options are of course the California roll, which is imitation crab and veggies; there are tofu rolls, only veggie rolls, smoked salmon rolls, and two of my favorites: spider roll and unagi  roll.  The spider roll is a soft-shell crab that has been deep fried.  A soft-shell crab is just a small crab that has just recently molted his shell, so the whole crab is soft and edible (and delicious!!!)

The unagi is freshwater eel, and it is cooked.  It melts in your mouth and has a sweet smoky flavor and what is usually referred to as unagi sauce that is delicious!!

Also, if they have it, don't pass up the miso soup or the edamame(steamed soy bean pods w/salt).

Hope this helps turn you into the sushi lover I have become!!

P.S.  If you have a clean bill of health, the best way to start, IMO, is to get  rolls that have a lot of ingredients and just try a bite!!  Some of my faves came from not knowing till after I tried them, because I knew my head would mess with me if I knew what I was eating instead of giving it a fair chance! Who ever thought I would crave eel?  Not me! But I do!

  5. No, it's not all raw fish.

You'll find some noodles and such.  You most likely will not sit on the floor, as that is not the custom in sushi restaraunts.

I say try the sushi!  It's worth it, you will probably like it.  The Salmon, Tuna and Mackerel are fishier, where the squid, shrimp and eel are the least fishy.  Be adventurous, you will eb rewarded!

On the chemo issue, I too have been through chemo.  I actaully began my study abroad in Japan less than a month after my final session, and I sushied it up al lot there.  I'm still alive and the healthiest I have been in years.  You will be ok.

  6. not all raw fish alot is american-ized a salmon roll is raw but has the texture of smoked salmon  very good too

  7. They have a lot of selections. You do not necessarily have to eat the raw fish. They sell nigiri which is the fish over top of rice, sashimi wich is just the raw fish, or they sell rolls with cooked shrimp, crab, or others.

Most sushi places also sell noodle bowls. Udon noodles are the best!! You can add cooked meat to these or cooked shrimp or chicken.

Just look at the menu-not all is raw.
