  1. yea, cause the fish may hav been swimming where people leave industrial waste or a heap of oil

  2. Yes, but it's not likely if the place is well-kept.

  3. The time when it was prudent to eat ANY raw meat.......has long passed.

Look into the number of oversight's that used to exist to protect our food supply vs those we currently have.

If for instance a chef prepares a fish or chicken dish........then with the same knife and cutting board two to four hrs later, ...........cuts up lettuce for a salad.........you get where Im going with this?

As we employ more and more unskilled labor it will (a lot of it, go into the food industry).  At the same time.......the oversight that used to exist has been scaled down in the interest of "keeping government small".

To some of us, accross the board see this as wrong headed.  We are firing those who protect us on the front lines...........Here.........in America.

Please look into the funding cuts pressed through Congress under Bush.

  4. unless that fish is not fresh!!!!

  5. Look how many people actually eat sushi & how many of them suffer food poising from it not many I would say. Its as long as its cooked properly.

  6. No all Sushi contains raw fish. My personal favorite is the eel which is grilled in soy souce

Yes fresh water fish shouldn't be eaten raw. Salmon can be a bit risky because it spends some of its time in fresh water. Tuna is safe becouse it is caught at deep sea and put on ice immediatly.

Botton line is most good Sushi places are perfectly clean but you have to be willing to pay lots of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

  7. Yes you can get food poisoning from raw fish, but it doesn't stop me from eating sushi!

  8. The answer is yes but also realise this, you can get food poisioning from eating any food.

Your question should be, Does sushi has a higher chance to get food poision on? And that is yes too.

Reason: Cooking food (depending on method and temp) helps killing bactrias. When you eat raw stuff, if it is not prepared right, you run a huge risk of getting food contamination.

    There are different types of food poisioning;

    Food contamination; descirbe as above

Brending: eating two types of food that triggers a reaction.

Allergies: This can often be mistaken as food poisioning

Best thing: The truth is, if you are really worried about the hygiene of food you eat, DON'T EAT OUT!!!! I've worked in many kitchen and let me tell you, there are so many scambags out there that shouldn't be working around food.

I am passion about cooking and the way I see it, customers comes in to pay for a meal, they should get a good, clean dish no matter if they paid $5 or $1000 a portion.

Some of the people I've worked with in the past have no morals in this sense. They are dirty and dogey. Some do it deliberately or sometimes unintentionally. The way I see it, if they don't have passion with their work, they shouldn't even be in the industry.

A girl used to work with that doesn't believe in washing her hands... I've seen her preparing salad while picking her a55. Same person..... drop food on floor, replate it and cover the dirt with sause. Plain lazy..... no concern for anyone!!

If this person ever becomes a sushi chef, you know what to expect....

I have quit working in kitchen because I am so sick telling off people like.

Anyway, that's my answer for your food posioning matter.
