Sushi rice ?

i cant find any short grain rice at the store here, but will medium grain rice work for making sushi?

well ...I have never seen medium grain rice....hi hi !!!

usually long grain is specified if the finished rice is to be fluffy and the grains separate nicely.... and short grain seems to be the sticky variety....there is a nice video on sushi rice,  showing a demo ...

Yes... medium grain rice should work.

For example, Calrose rice is a medium grain rice that's sometimes used for sushi.

Edit... long grain rice and sushi?  I'm confused by that answer.

as long as it cooks up to a sticky texture it will be fine
