Liverpool youngster, Suso, has signed a new long-term deal with the Merseyside club.
The Spanish footballer arrived at Anfield in 2010 from Cadiz. Even though he initially failed to break into the professional circuitry, the 18-year old has quickly staked his claim in the team under Brendan Rodgers’ management.
Since the start of the season, Suso has made 5 appearances for the Reds. He made his Liverpool debut in a Europa League fixture.
After putting up a notable show in the season’s preamble, it was reported that Rodgers was pursuing the fledgling to renew his contract with the Reds.
The talented schemer finally obliged to his manager’s will, signing an extension on his current deal on Friday. His contract was set to expire by the end of the term.
While speaking to the media after signing the deal, Suso let out his elation on getting the opportunity to represent Liverpool for years to come.
He revealed that Rodgers’ unwavering faith in him was the prime reason behind his decision and he was honoured to represent a club of Liverpool’s stature.
“I am happy Brendan has shown trust in me. I had no questions about signing a new deal and I am really glad to have done so,” he told the reporters.
“I am comfortable here. I have played some games for the first team and I hope to continue doing that, but I need to work hard every day for that to happen.”
The juvenile midfielder has been one of the silver linings for the Merseyside club so far in their beleaguered start to the season.
The Spaniard possesses the traits of maintaining possession on the ball and making quick and slick passes at the centre of the field.

The Northern Irishman said that the player’s decision to sign a new deal will set an example for all the emerging youngsters to follow suit and had no qualms that he will one day go on to become an Anfield star.
“At 18, he has demonstrated outstanding technical qualities but also shown very good temperament to play for such a prestigious club,” he added.
