Suspected of benefit theft/fraud of somesort?

My uncle was recently accused wrongly of benefit fraud and is out of his mind worried. He was under a carer benefit, as his wife, my aunt, was diagnosed terminally ill. She died about 5 months ago. He had his son staying with him a a day every 2 weeks as he didnt have accomodation because he is a manager of a business that works away constantly. He was put under a benefit, not sure of the name, which entitled him a little bit of money as he is a pensioner and living alone. His sons ex-girlfriend (of four years), has told authorities, that his son has been living with my uncle, so therefore is benefit thief of somesort. This is in-correct, and his son has not being LIVING there, but just frequently visiting. It is her way of saying F*** YOU, as his son has just moved in with his current girlfriend. What can my uncle do, as he is thoroughly unfit for court and any other measures she is going to go too, to get her own back on his son. What sort of proof will she need? As there is none.
