Question:

Suspended License Due To Failure To Show Up In Court (Nevada)?

So heres the situation, back in May 21st 2008 I got a speeding ticket for going 24 in a school zone. I didn't show up to court due to a family emergency back in Europe and when I got back, I got a letter telling me my license is suspended. It tells me I have to pay re-instatement fees and the ticket itself before I get my driving "privileges" back. Heres where it gets tricky

I turn 18 on the 24th. Would I be able to wait til I'm 18 and just go to the DMV and fill out the paperwork and pay the fines to have my drivers license re-instated? Or do I have to go back to Juvenile Court because I was 17 when it happened. Also, I'm moving to California on the 20th, so would I need to clear everything up in Nevada before I can get a license in California? And does anyone have an idea of how much it would cost to re-instate my license with a 9mph over school zone speed limit ticket? Thanks for the help guys and please don't give me a "You shouldn't have been speeding in the first place" lecture, I know what I did was wrong and I'm constantly reminded of it, I just need a way to fix everything.

  1. There is nothing tricky do as the letter says.  Your age has nothing to do with it.

Do not leave the state without settling this as it will most likely follow you.

I know between WI and TX it does and also Ill and MI.  You'll just have to go back to take care of it then.

I'm guessing your probably looking at $100 for the speeding and another 50- 100 for the fees.  Your lucky they didn't take your license away totally and make you take a drivers course.  Good thing you weren't in WI.

  2. u have to go to court first and tell the judge why then pay fines and **** when u get to Cal then switch it over

  3. get a lawyer & make arrangements to turn your self in there as also a bench warrant out in you for failure to appear
