  1. Neither, No one is buying so whats the point

  2. This is one of The Labour Party's quick fixes!A lash up or Band aid solution!

It just goes to show how bankrupt this Labour Part/Government are to solve the country's financial ills! After all; They are directly responsible for most of them!

  3. Hopefully this is just a [small start ]to correcting the imbalance between rich and poor but if this is all Gorden has come up with during his holiday, good by Labour.

The total cost of this is 60 million ,peanuts.

Just privatising the BBC would save the tax payer billions.

  4. Part of the cause of the credit crunch has been that house prices have reached too high a level, forcing people into unaffordable borrowing to get on the property ladder.

Suspending stamp duty like this might help in the short term by keeping more houses at an more affordable level, but it won't address the real problem of allowing people on average wage to buy a first home without taking crippling debts on.

Perhaps tax breaks for building firms and housing associations which allowed more new building of affordable houses might shift the balance from seller to buyer, while providing work in hard times.

  5. Whats the point House prices are not the real reason why the UK economy and in general is heading towards ****-creek.

  6. I think its a quick fix.

  7. The more I think about it I suspect it might actually act to drag the price level lower.  This won't affect most people trying to buy or sell a house.  It does end the uncertainty surrounding the issue I suppose.

It will probably do more harm than good.
