Hi... I posted an ad selling some new pants and shirts, but then I get this e-mail from someone that claims to live in Vancouver (I posted my ad for the Toronto loca classifieds so I have no idea how he saw it) but that he is living in another country now but wants to buy 5 of one of the capri pants I'm offering, and that he "can" arrange the pick up of th item and "pay" trought his banck account that he has in Canada...omg that sounded so fake, but Is it just me or this guy is trying to do something fishy? I mean everyone knows you can not give your bank card number of information to other people right? So how is he planning to pay me? Is he really expecting me to give him my bank number? What should I do now? I was going to tell him that I only have one pair of those pants (that's true actually) and I was also going to suggest pay pal to him if he "really" wants those pants...Is there any problem if he pays by paypal? Any ideas of what is this all about?

  1. I would e-mail him back and tell him the item has sold to another party. I woudln't even THINK about doing it. I'm in the U.S., but crooks are crooks no matter where they are.

  2. You should get him to pay by paypal and if he's coming in person make sure someone else is home when he shows up.  Are you selling on ebay?

  3. just because he is willing to buy your product does not mean you should just go ahead and do what he asks you to. its obviously a scam. no matter how badly you want to sell something, you need to keep an eye open for jerks like this. dont think of everyone as a genuine customer...this world is crazy and this internet is a jungle...be careful, and don't do anything unless you are completely sure....
