Suspiciously low asking prices for cars on craigslist.com?

Question

Can you think of any reason (other than a scam or that the car has a problem) for someone selling a car for a very cheap price (like a 2004 Lexus car for about 4200)?

Scam - and they are usually removed quite quickly.

or they dont drive it

or they are getting a new car

ANYBODY can take their car to a used car dealer and get about 80% of the Book value.  So why would anybody sell it privately with all the extra work involved?

Answer: Nobody would.  It is a scam.

The engine is probably blown or the transmission is probably out. Usually if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is!!! lol Or it has a branded titled and can't be traded in (like frame damage, flood damage, etc)

It is an all too common scam attempt. I really wish there were a way to reporting these clowns besides "flagging" on C/L.

well if you cant drive it or touch it good chance its not real.. if its not in your town pass
