As a kid, my family and I used to take me to this thing called the sussex airshow in sussex county NJ. Later on I went with friends. Last time i went was a few years ago. I was ready to make plans to go this year and i found out they dont have it anymore! =( I loved it because of all the vintage war planes, stunts, food, ect. It was a really really exciting event. Out in the country. Got me away from the city life for a bit. But now that it's not here anymore, does anyone know where i could go see a good airshow in or around New Jersey? Let me know. Thanks =)

  1. The Sussex Air Show was fantastic.  I was really sorry to learn that the new owners of the airport decided not to continue the tradition.  About the only thing you can do locally now is go to the Rhinebeck Airodrome up near the top of Dutchess County.  It isn't the same as a traditional air show (no WW2 or newer planes) but they have a good group of WW1 planes and do barnstorming airobatics and dogfighting with some Germans on the ground in a fake village getting bombed as the allies rescue the fair young maiden, etc.  Family fun with a skit and corny gags...great for the kids...and it's out in the country.   http://www.oldrhinebeck.org/

  2. The Sussex Airshow ran from 1964 to 2004.

There is an show called Thunder Over the Boardwalk Airshow, New Jersey, USA 08/20/2008-08/20/2008 but that is as much as I can find out about it.

There is another on September 20th and 21st at the New Jersey Motorsports Park
