Sussex county cricket club on Thursday signed Australian all-rounder John Hastings as their second overseas player for this year’s Friends Life T20 tournament.
The 27-year-old Australian cricketer, who has an experience of playing international cricket in all three formats, has been snapped up by the club on the recommendation of England stars Matt Prior and Luke Wright. The right-handed New
South Wales batsman, who also bowls right-arm medium pace, earned Sussex selectors’ nod after making a strong impression in the Big Bash League earlier this year, where he played for Melbourne Stars returning with three wickets from 5 matches.

"John should be a perfect fit for the club and we're delighted to have him on board," Mark Robinson, Sussex's cricket manager said during a media interaction after signing the deal with the Aussie all-rounder. "John is a skilful bowler
and a hard-hitting lower-order batter."

Hastings made his Test debut during the home series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 late last year, and was forced to sit out after that due to a back injury. He has also played in 11 One Day Internationals and three T20 Internationals. To date

While speaking to media reporters after agreeing a deal at Hove, Hastings said: "I can't wait for the opportunity to help the team in going one step further this season. It has always been a huge goal of mine to play in an English summer,
and I couldn't be happier about my upcoming time at Sussex."
The Australian all-rounder will join up with New Zealand’s http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SB-Styris-c2463 as the overseas players at Hove. Sussex Sharks had made it to the semi-finals of last year's FLt20.
