Beginning their run-chase, Hampshire openers MA Carberry and JM Vince forged an intimidating partnership of 129 runs, leaving Sussex in complete disarray.
The batsmen, without wasting any time, launched an unforgiving batting onslaught, pounding the bowlers all around the park.
Sussex needed to contain the two openers, but failed miserably, as the batsmen kept the scoreboard ticking and reached the boundaries at will.

MA Carberry was named as the Player of the Match for his fine innings with the bat.
Earlier, Sussex after winning the toss chose to bat first, but after a fabulous start, suffered a massive batting collapse with wickets falling at random.

SM Ervine with his three-wicket haul ruled supreme backed by DR Briggs and DA Griffiths who shared two wickets each.
