Sussex v Surrey - County Championship Division One - Day 4 - Live Score and Update
Surrey 124 & 248 v Sussex 351 & 22/0 (1.5 ov) - Sussex won by 10 wickets
On Saturday, June 09, 2012, Sussex won their four-day match against Surrey by ten wickets after chasing down a target of 22 runs to win the match played at Cricket Field Road Ground, Horsham.
Sussex had gained an upper hand against their opposition after bolstering a staggering first innings tally of 351 runs, which finally helped them secure this emphatic win.
The day began with Surrey resuming their second innings from the overnight tally of 39 runs for the loss of one wicket with MR Ramprakash on three and SC Meaker on one run.
From Surrey’s point of view, the match was heading for a draw as they were confident of staying on the wicket long enough to prevent an outcome.
On the other hand, Sussex had other plans as they could envision an imminent victory that only required a collective performance to bowl-out the batting side and then bat to victory while chasing.
With 61 runs on the board, the batting side suffered the loss of their first wicket of the day when Meaker was dismissed by SJ Magoffin after scoring eight runs.
Z de Bruyn was then the next man to walk in and provide Ramprakash the much required support.
However, with 96 runs on the board, Ramprakash's reign ended after smacking a knock of 37 runs. This was a big wicket for Sussex and they knew that this was the time to put further pressure on the remaining batsmen in order to leave them flabbergasted.
Bruyn and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SM-Davies-c2542 then tried to save the match as they forged a potent partnership to halt the bowling onslaught.
Nonetheless, the partnership faltered with 145 runs on the board as de Bruyn finished after clobbering an innings of 21 runs.

While, Davies hammered an innings of 35 runs, skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sussex-c852 a target of 22 runs to win, which they conveniently chased down without any loss.
