Sutters Comments On Young Boys Upcoming Game
As a youngster Scott Sutters used to come to White Hart lane to watch Tottenham Hotspurs play and was reported to say that he once came and stole some grass from the field.
Now Sutters, playing as the Young Boys defender, is coming to White Hart lane and plans to win the match and take the ball home in front of everyone. It had been Scott Sutters childhood dream to walk on this specific field and play a match.
Though this time he is on the opposing team rather than the home team which Sutters grew up supporting.
Still though, this is going to be a first for the twenty four year old from Enfield. He had only done this once before and that was in the nineties when he went to watch the match with his father.
Sutters had a special feeling when returning to white hart lane and said that he remembered when he used to wait outside the stadium gates, to get autographs from players. He also confessed that once he snuck into the stadium with his dad and cut out and stole a piece of grass and kept it at home for around three weeks.
As a joke when he was asked to bring back some grass with him when he returns, the player replied by saying that this time he plans to return with the ball.
It is expected that Sutters will knock Tottenham Hotspurs out of the European Premier League Competition and this may not be such a hard task as he has played a major part in building his side a 3-2 first leg lead in the last match.
He commented on the Tottenham Hotspurs team, by saying that right now they are a lot more pressured than the Young Boys. The Young Boys have nothing to lose if they don’t win this match but Tottenham Hotspurs have everything to lose.
As a loss in this match would kick Tottenham Hotspurs out of running for this season’s Champions League win. Scott Sutters believes that if his team can make the first twenty to twenty five minutes of the match without letting the ball in then the chances of them to win will increase exponentially.
Sutter says that he just hopes that Young boys don't take the first half of the match lightly, the way they did in their previous encounter.
Sutter believes that Tottenham Hotspurrs underestimated them and he added that this misconception is very understandable. He continued to say that a lot of big teams underestimate them and then regret it later.
The player continued to say that he does not believe that there is a major difference in the games played in the highest leagues, and the games played with clubs like Tottenham Hotspurs and with their own league. He said that this is proved over and over again when a club like their's beats higher league clubs.
The Young Boys trip to London did not start off favorably as they arrived more than an hour late to their Press Conference. Sutter later revealed that the reason for them getting late was that their taxi driver had gotten lost. He said that the driver kept insisting that he knew where White Hart Lane was and when they finally gave up on him, they got on a double Decker bus instead.
This is of course something that normally happens with small league clubs but the Young boys stated that they were not concerned about the impression the media or the Tottenham Hotspurs has of them.
David Degen the Midfiler from Young Boys said "Quite frankly, what Spurs think, I don't really care about it." These same sentiments were shared by Vladmir Petkovic the teams manager.
