Sutton Sid set to stand first in Maiden Stakes
Sutton Sid is all set to seal a sterling success in the British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing E. B. F. Maiden Stakes that will be held at Leicester racecourse on Monday, May 21. The Class 4 contest over a distance of 5 furlong and 2 yards will commence at 7:20 (GMT).
Pursuing the prize cheque worth £4,334, the George Baker-trained novice colt will run against 10 competitors including Ceelo, Dream Ally, Forray, Ouzinkie, Party Royal, Royal Jenray, Setfiretotherain, Smoothtalkinrascal, Wrightington and Lincolnrose.
Sutton Sid is packed with skills and talent that will help him thrive in the Stakes. The two-year-old rookie runner excellently finished as a runner-up in his only outing on May 11, 2012. This outstanding performance boosted up the colt’s morale to a great extent along with making him a blue-eyed runner of the punters.
In today’s showdown, the brilliant son of Dutch Art out of Drastic Measure will run with sheer confidence and fighting spirit. If he manages to capitalise well on his capabilities, he will have up to 90 percent chances to finish first in the Stakes. His chances to thrive are as high as 90 percent.
Almost equally capable to Sutton Sid is Smoothtalkinrascal who also gained a runner-up position in his first and last start on April 20, 2012. While running again 10 runners, he ran audaciously and finished well.
The Brian Meehan-trained bay colt will definitely give enough tough time to Sutton Sid. However, the battle between the two will make the event interesting and thrilling.
Party Royal is also likely to perform well today. Mark Johnston’s bay colt clinched 4th position against 8 rivals in a race on May 10, 2012. He too looks to be confident enough to show a decent run in today’s showdown.
Thus, there will be a fierce battle in the Maiden Stakes. Sutton Sid will have to fight with his back to the wall in order to thrive. The event will be amazing to watch. A large number of spectators are likely to turn out to the venue.  Let us enjoy the fantastic action. Good luck to all the contestants.
