Sutton rejoins Derbyshire
Luke  Sutton has rejoined former club Derbyshire after it was revealed that Lancashire would not offer him a new contract at the end of the season.
Sutton has previously been captain of Derbyshire before he moved to Lancashire where he has been wicketkeeper for the last five seasons. It will be welcome news to Derbyshire fans who have just been forced to cope with the loss of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Middlesex-c817.
Sutton said: "Derbyshire County Cricket Club has played a huge part in my life and I am delighted to come back. Derbyshire is the last club I will play for and it is great to come back to somewhere that has been so good to me and that I have a real passion for."
Sutton has a number of skills and qualities that should help him to settle back into life at Derbyshire. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lancashire-c806 will now be hard pushed to find a wicketkeeper that is equally consistent and effective.
Skills and qualities
Sutton will go back to Derbyshire with more experience and better ideas on how to help the team. He will already know the set-up at the county and this means he should be able to hit the ground running.
Sutton's glove work is second to very few in the game. Possibly only Matt Prior at http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Essex-c783 are better in terms of handling the ball. This ensures that there is one position that Derbyshire will not have to worry about.
It also means that Sutton will give the side a much better chance of conceding fewer extras. Byes in cricket can cause an opposition total to slowly climb up but Sutton is a good enough wicketkeeper to make sure that none are conceded.
He added: "I came here as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/A-Young-c41367 cricketer, developed quickly during my first stint here, captained the club and I left with nothing but very warm feelings. I always had half an eye on wanting to come back and it is very pleasing that it has actually happened."
Betting advice
Derbyshire are still going to struggle to win in any form of the game so backing Sutton as an individual will be better. He has enough quality to score a century in a four-day game so back him to do so regularly next season. You will get very good odds on this because there are more explosive batsmen in Derbyshire's team.
