Suv with the best gas mileage?

so im looking for a suv or car[perferable a suv] that has over 30 mpg

saturn vue hybrid. 25 mpg in the city and 32 hwy

Well the only SUV's that have 30 mpg that I know of are the Ford Escape and Scion Xb (which is acutally considered a station wagon but it's cooll)

What kind of SUV?  Very, very few SUVs will get that kind of mileage due to the size and weight.  98% of models with 4WD can only dream of that kind of mileage.  I don't think even the Subaru Outback will get that kind of mileage.  Older 4 cylinder models like the Chevy/Geo Tracker and the Suzuki Sidekick might see that.  Possibly a Kia Sportage too, but its unlikely.  

For cars, i'd look at small 4-bangers.  My dad has owned Saturn S-Series cars the past 14 years and he has gotten as high as 51 mpg with his cars.

Saturn Vue hybrid and Ford Escape Hybrid.. Obviously if you want the best gas mileage, get a Prius.
