Suzaan van Biljon wins Women’s 100m breast-stroke crown: Day four – 2011 All African Games
Day four of the 2011 All African Games commenced in stunning fashion at the Zimpeto National Stadium, in Maputo, Mozambique, on Thursday, September 8. The final session of the meet conducted the Women’s 100m breast-stroke race, in which South Africa's Suzaan
van Biljon snared the golden crown on the podium by posting a remarkable time of 1 minute and 10.40 seconds.
In the corresponding swim, Tunisia's Sarra Lajnef took home the silver medal on the podium by submitting an impressive time of 1 minute and 12.78 seconds, while Zimbabwe's Samantha Welch earned bronze medal of the platform in a time of 1 minute and 15.39
seconds.
Racheal Tonjor of Nigeria earned fourth place honours in a time of 1 minute and 15.49 seconds, while Daniela Lindermeier of Namibia rounded out the top five in a time of 1 minute and 15.84 seconds. Mariam Corsini of Mozambique earned sixth place honours
with an impressive mark of 1 minute and 16.52 seconds.
Moreover, Mu’minah Connelly of South Africa was placed seventh with a time of 1 minute and 18.09 seconds and Elodie Poo Cheong of Mauritius settled eighth in 1 minute and 20.46 seconds.  
The Men’s 200m breast-stroke title was clinched by Tunisia's Taki Mrabet with a victorious mark of 2 minutes and 16.51 seconds. After the swim, Mrabet was contented with his individual splash. In the meantime, Wassim Elloumi of Tunisia earned silver medal
on the podium by posting a winning time of 2 minutes and 18.58 seconds and Algeria's Sofiane Daid snagged bronze medal with a time of 2 minutes and 19.74 seconds.
In the respective race, Abdelkader Afane of Algeria was placed fourth in a time of 2 minutes and 20.81 seconds and Chad G Le Clos of South Africa earned fifth spot in a time of 2 minutes and 20.83 seconds. Malick Fall of Senegal finished sixth after he touched
the finishing wall in a time of 2 minutes and 21.45 seconds.
Finally, the winners were awarded medals and accolades after the completion of the day’s session.
