Suzann Pettersen can give a tough time to rivals at CN Canadian Women’s Open 2012
Norwegian Suzann Pettersen appears to have the belief to regain her lost momentum and win the coming CN Canadian Women’s Open once again.
Pettersen displayed an electrifying performance in the 2009 CN Canadian Women’s Open and racked up the coveted title after taking a 5-stroke lead against her nearest rivals.
The 2012 edition of the tournament is going to be held at The Vancouver Golf Club, from August 20-26.
Despite her past performance, the question looms large whether the Norwegian star has what it takes to repeat her 2009 performance once again, whereas the competition on the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) Tour is getting tougher and tougher by the day.
Winning the 2009 edition of the CN Canadian Women’s Open was something Pettersen had been desperately seeking, and that was the moment she joined the best in the world.
Analysts said that the LPGA giant is keen to atone for the lapses she made in recent events, and the impending battle at Vancouver will provide her with plenty of chances to get back on track and become a prodigy once again.
Analysts also pointed out that the once-feared golfer still believes that it will not be difficult to stay ahead of her rivals in coming events, as she has shown in the past that she has the ability to make a dramatic comeback.
They added that Pettersen has the belief that she can challenge any LPGA star on the course and she realises that she must try to become invincible once again.
An improved performance in the current LPGA season is definitely Norwegian stars’ biggest priority, but she will have to keep a close eye on Asian contenders, who appear to be bent on trampling US and European players in another tournament.
According to the officials of CN and Golf Canada, current world number one Yani Tseng and South Korean Na Yeon Choi have already been confirmed to join the field of the CN Canadian Women’s Open 2012.
Tseng has been out of form in the last three tournaments — something lesser-known players appear to have fully capitalised on. For instance, Choi has emerged as a tough contender lately, as she won the US Women’s Open 2012.
