Suzann Pettersen happy with performance in 2012 season
Norwegian Suzann Pettersen is going to grace the Kingsmill Championship 2012, with the presence of some of the most talented LPGA (Ladies professional Golf Association) stars in the roster.
The Kingsmill Championship is scheduled to start from September 6-9, at the Williamsburg, Virginia, United States, whereas most of the key stars have already confirmed their commitment to participate in the prestigious tournament.
Pettersen might not have been able to prove her mettle in some of the recent tournaments, but she is clearly in high spirits these days, as she has vowed to boost her position in the Women’s World Golf Rankings.
So far, Pettersen has found it hard to overtake her nearest rivals in world rankings, but she plans to come up with an even more solid strategy to add more victories, increasing her position in the Women’s World Golf Rankings.
The Norwegian star took part in the Safeway Classic 2012 with plenty of confidence and fired an overall score of 214 to finish tied for the 26th position on the leaderboard. Her shots were perfect in the first two rounds as she made the most of good conditions on the course.
Commentators said that Pettersen could have done even better at the Safeway Classic 2012, but she made a couple of mistakes in the last round, which caused a dip in her leaderboard position.
The LPGA titan had expressed her hope to do well at Oregon, saying she was pretty happy to find another opportunity to play the field.
“I'm very happy to be back in Portland. It kind of feels like home for me, being here with all my friends at Nike. First of all, I can get some stuff done with them but also enjoy the city. I love it out here. It kind of feels like home,” Pettersen had said.
“Not really the 100 degrees, but there is something about Portland. Ever since it's been moved from Columbia Edgewater over here, I've done a little better. It's just one of those places where can you get it going”.
She went on to say that she is happy with her performance in the 2012 season and looks forward to doing her best in the coming tournaments.
