Suzann Pettersen hopes to pull off big finishes in 2013
Norwegian Suzann Pettersen, who finished off the 2012 Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) in grand style, thinks that the 2013 season is going to be more important for her professional
career, and she is ready for that.
Pettersen is one of the strongest LPGA contenders and boasts a stellar profile, but with the 2012 season over now, it is time to look at how the Norwegian star is going to tackle Asian rule.
From Inbee Park of South Korea to Na Yeon Choi, the LPGA lineup has diverse talent out there, and it has become somewhat challenging for the past winners and non-Asian contenders to make their
mark.
This is what led Pettersen to believe that the coming season will be fraught with plenty of challenges, not just in terms of stats or wins. Sine image building and media attention have been
important on the LPGA Tour, players usually look for something big all the time and many previous top-ranked players have gone behind the scene lately.
Observers say that despite not being able to find a top spot in her 12-year professional career, Pettersen still appears to be going through a transition, and she is getting better by the
day.
Although ups and downs have been common in her career, the latest back-to-back victories have helped the LPGA giant reshape her game.
She recently ended her months-long winning drought in Asia as she grabbed consecutive titles at the LPGA Hana Bank Championship 2012 and Sunrise LPGA Taiwan Championship.
Pettersen spoke to the media in her recent interview and enunciated her goal for the next season. She said that she is happy with her performance in the 2012 and her goal is to win even more
tournaments next year.
“My big goal now is to prepare and be well for 2013 and hopefully come out strong the way I finish and hopefully get another three good rounds together and see where that takes me for this
tournament,” said Pettersen who has notched up a total of 10 LPGA titles since she joined the Tour in 2003.
The fan-favourite golfer further said that she may find it a bit hard to subdue rivals in the next season, but her work ethic and strong nerve will help her shine.
