Suzann Pettersen improved game after victories in Asia
After racking up two back-to-back titles in Asia a few weeks ago, Norwegian Suzann Pettersen now looks more determined and confident, and she is ready to continue her fiery form in the 2013 season.
Pettersen looked weary and shattered before she headed to Asia in October 2012, as she had been struggling to end her winning drought. However, a stunning performance there has put her back in the spotlight.
Signs look solid for Pettersen, as her game has improved quite a lot since she won the titles at the LPGA Hana Bank Championship and the Sunrise LPGA Taiwan Championship 2012 in late October.
The Norwegian star herself seems sure that the victories will further help her boost confidence, and she said it without hesitation in one of her recent interviews.
Similarly, her performance at the season-ending CME Group Titleholders 2012 was much better. She could not finish inside the top 10, but the first saw her in best shape as she shot a 66.
The TwinEagles Club was one of her favourite golf courses and her calculated putts and swing in the fairways made her stand out above all the other LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) contenders.
With the 2013 season set to kick off, the 31-year-old LPGA phenom is hoping the vibes attached with the triumphant feelings for the Asian tour are going to help her do even better next year.
After a sluggish start and then bouncing back in the second half of the 2012 season, Pettersen was able to blaze back into fifth place in the Women’s World Golf Rankings.
Although an 18th-place finish at the CME Group Titleholders was not enough to cause a further boost in her ranking, Pettersen has made it clear that she is not going to give up without putting up a tough fight.
On the other hand, Stacy Lewis has also done well. As the best player in the United States, Lewis is now under tight scrutiny by her fans and critics as she is being expected to make another major breakthrough, which is to grab the number one spot in the world rankings.
Lewis said in her recent interview that her victory in the 2011 Kraft Nabisco Championship helped her reshape her game.
