Suzann Pettersen says Kraft Nabisco Championship is on her mind
The Kia Classic is going to be held from March 22-25 at the La Costa Resort and Spa, with Suzann Pettersen getting ready to give her rivals a tough time.
Suzann Pettersen, who recently said that she is fully committed to the major championship, Kraft Nabisco Championship, has also said that the Kia Classic will prove very productive for because of the tough field.
According to the match details, the field has been set, with the participation of big names like the current world number one Yani Tseng and Paula Creamer.
Pettersen, who currently ranks 3rd in women’s golf world rankings, is considered as one of the toughest contenders for the Kia Classic.
Pettersen boasts a shinning profile, as she has been able to record a number of stunning victories.
She has racked up 8 wins on the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) Tour. In addition to showing her strength on the LPGA, the Norwegian prodigy has left her footprint in LET (Ladies European Tour) as well.
She grabbed 5 titles on the LET, making her one of the best current golfers in women’s golf.
Although confident enough to do her best at the La Costa Resort and Spa, Pettersen will not find it easy to grab a leading position.
The field features strong contenders, but Yani Tseng has, time and again, overshadowed the skills of other players.
Tseng won the recently held RR Donnelley LPGA Founder Cup, which reflects that the Taiwanese star is getting ready to give her fans another surprise.
Speaking to the media about the preparations of the Kia Classic, Pettersen said that she knows the tournament is crucial, given its strong field and media coverage.
She, however, said that nothing replaces Kraft Nabisco Championship.
She said that she had made big plans for the major championship, but was keen to explain that there is no room for complacency.
She said that she is not taking the Kia Classic lightly, as she trained hard in the last few months.
“This week is all about trying to prepare yourself as good as possible so can you go into next week with lots of energy and kind of sterss-free,” she Pettersen said.
“Preparing for next week, this is a great little track,” she added.
