Suzann Pettersen to give a miss to Mizuno Classic 2012

Norwegian Suzann Pettersen, who won her second straight LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) title in Taiwan last week, will give a miss to the upcoming Mizuno Classic 2012.
The Mizuno Classic 2012 is scheduled to be played from November 2-4 at Shima-s**+, Mie, Japan, with just about the same field as the Sunrise LPGA Taiwan Championship, held last week in Taiwan.
The decision made by Pettersen to opt out of the Mizuno Classic may not trouble other contenders, but it matters much to Pettersen whose fans want her to continue her winning streak by grabbing
her third straight LPGA title in Japan.
Pettersen displayed a superb performance at the LPGA Hana Bank Championship two weeks back as she won the title. The victory had helped the Norwegian star end her protracted winning drought.
Her fiery form then helped her win the Sunrise LPGA Taiwan Championship last week.
Speaking to the media about her next plans, Pettersen said her rivals may like her decision to miss out on the opportunity in Japan, but she will take some rest and head straight back to the
United States.
“I don't know what it is, but I'm not playing next week, so the guys don't have to worry,” the winner said at the end of the four-round tournament last Sunday.
“You know what, I tee it up every week to try and win.  Obviously winning last week gave me perhaps a bit more confidence believing that what I do is the right thing, and I've had some great
friends around me last week, this week”.
She said that she enjoyed her tour to Asia where she learned a lot. Mentioning the stiff competition she faced during this time, the LPGA titan said that Asian rivals are still strong despite
the fact they have not been able to win the last two events on their home soil.
“I don't think I've enjoyed myself so much on the golf course like I have the last three or four weeks as I have the last ten years,” she added.
The United States will stage the CME Group Titleholders from November 15-18 at Naples, Florida, which might be a good chance for Pettersen to continue her new-found resilience.
Before CME Group Titleholders, the 31-year-old will come face-to-face against rivals at the prestigious Lorena Ochoa Invitational, slated to be played from November 8-11, at Guadalajara, Mexico.
