  1. 750 by far is a good starter

  2. I like power and handling, so my vote would be 750!

  3. OK if you get a 600 you can go 155 and on a 750 you can go 165. How often will you be going that fast to even care?

Take it from somebody who has rode fast. After 130MPH everything looks like it's standing still and you're dead just the same if anything goes wrong. 130 = dead, 165 = dead.

Save your money and buy a 750. use the extra cash for gear. Full face helmet, leather ventillated jacket with armour, and some boots with ankle protection at the least.

  4. Well, I myself have a gsxr 750 and it has done me very well. If you have ridden sportbikes before you will have no problem handeling the 750, if you have little experince then get the 600. Both bikes are fast enough to kill you, just ride smart and you will be happy with either. i am very happy to see that you are not making a squid move by getting the 1000.

  5. I would recommend the 600 as a first bike.

  6. If this is your first bike how experienced are you? Anyways, 600, 750, and 1000 GSX-R bikes are all called supersports. These are inline-four, 100+ bhp, quick-turning, and super light bikes. The reason these are frowned upon as a first bike are for their sensitivity since they are exceptional track bikes. One quick blip of the throttle can send you down to the ground in a parking lot. If it is your first bike and you still want that power then get it at your own risk.

Personally I would look into the 650s like the Ninja or the Suzuki SV650. Maybe even a Yamaha FZ6 or a Kawasaki ZZR600. These are more tamed than the Gixxer and more forgiving. Don't be pressured into a supersport right away. The safer you are the longer you'll ride. Enjoy it while you can.

  7. My vote is for the 600 for reason stated above.

  8. 600's 750's and 1000's all have almost identical seat heights. But where they differeicate is their weight, and their width. A 600 will weigh in the area of ABOUT 50 pounds lighter than a 1000.

The 750 obviously has more power, but it's going to be less fuel efficient. It will be slightly more on insurance, but the resell value will be higher. It's in it's own class, so you won't fit into a 600cc race class if you go to the track.

It's less high strung than a 600. It depends what you want in the trade off and your financial situation...

There's the Triumph 675 also, it's inbetween both of those bikes.
