I have a 2001 Suzuki SV650S with 17,000 miles. When I am in first gear the bike lurches foreward when started. I have adjusted clutch cable and everything seems fine. Is it my clutch or am I missing something?

  1. Could need a new clutch push rod and/or the worm that pushes the push rod is worn. The clutch basket that holds the plates may have excessive wear on the clutch basket fingers from the plates slamming into them. This condition does not allow for proper disengagement.I  Rode for 37 yrs.and was a Yamaha Tech. in the day.
