I am looking for expansion chambers for my 1970 Suzuki Titan 500. Also I am looking for any other parts or suggestions to make my bike fast.

  1. Before you even consider expansion pipes do some serious upgrading on the suspension and brakes. The T500's are barely able to handle the horsepower that they have. If you up the power before doing the rest of the mods required you are going to be very disappointed in the end result.

  2. Yahoogroups has a Suzuki group at http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/Suzu...

covering Titans, TR750's, and anything 2 stroke. They probably know some stuff like this.

If you put expansion chambers you have to also tune and re-jet your carburetters. It takes a lot of work and know how.

If I had that bike, I'd put emphasis on keeping it stock and in as good running condition as I can. It's a classic, and a very fast bike as it is.

Dennis Kirk Motorcycles at http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/common/Fro... may have some stuff for this bike.

  3. I used to race the old 500s and 750 water buffalos, Keep your mufflers for the street. clean them out good though, they tend to get clogged with oil. I used kerosene to clean the inside of them. it had a lot more power in the low end with the mufflers. plus it cornered better.good teres , the front forks need to be in real good shape and the rear shocks. if the bike is in good tune,it is difficult to keep the front end down, this will help.In 1981 I ran a 9.56 in the 1/4 with a 1976 500.  it was ported, with custom carbs and expansion chambers. it would not run under 2000 rpm though. snomobile tricks work.they still run  basically the same engine. The swingarm bushings  went south on mine alot too. you might check those close.make it Safe, then go fast. most of the engine internals are obsolete, so don't get crazy on the mods, there weren't any more cranks left in 1981 and I doubt they started making any more! good luck, and THANKS for bringing back some good memories! I left a link that might help you! and if your heart is set on expansion chambers  Houston, Texas (Jemco exhaust systems) that makes T500 expansion chambers for US$250/pair.
