suzuki sv 1000s--handlebars-I would like to fit higher bars to my faired sv-which best option--buy kit --change yoke and extend cables and lines put straight renthol bars on???? or go for heli raised clip ons -they will give max 2inches taller and an inch back-???? any advice on doing the job myself or problems i may have would be recieved with many thanks. the whole idea is to releive myself of wrist and back ache without changing my bike.

  1. Just get some handlebar risers off Ebay for about $25, drill your tripletree and mount the risers, get a good 7/8" tubular handlebar with a couple inches rise and mount it on there. Cables are just long enough to work. Get some Buell footpegs which drop your footpegs by a couple inches. Major difference, it makes the SV1000S a sport-tourer. I added a Corbin seat and it's a comfortable bike! From a sportbike torture rack to a comfortable bike, best money I ever spent!
