Svein Tuft wins the fourth stage of the Tour de Beauce 2012
Svein Tuft of Team Equipe Nationale Du Canada claimed the second victory of 2012 season after his remarkable performance during the stage 4 of the Tour de Beauce.
The Canadian crossed the finish line in an impressive time of 27 minutes and 8 seconds and claimed the top podium spot.
Rory Sutherland of Team UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling finished 30 seconds behind and occupied the second podium spot.
Hugo Houle of Team Spidertech p/b C10, Christian Meier of Team Equipe Nationale Du Canada and Ryan Roth of Team Spidertech p/b C10 achieved the third, the fourth and the fifth positions respectively.
Second place finisher Sutherland briefed, "It's going to be tough (to defend the lead) but it's simple mathematics”.
“With Marc De Maar (5th overall at 1:12) and Ben Day (11th at 2:11) we've got three guys in relatively good position," he concluded.
Hugo Houle finished further 16 seconds behind Rory and noted that his chances of grabbing the leader’s jersey are now becoming less.
"It will be very difficult to take the jersey because UHC is very strong," he said.
"The legs are good and I'm very strong, but Sutherland is too. But it's not over – we'll fight to the end".
Svein Tuft of Team Equipe Nationale Du Canada is leading the point’s category with a total number of 15 UCI points to his credit.
Rory Sutherland of Team UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling, Hugo Houle of Team Spidertech p/b C10, Christian Meier of Team Equipe Nationale Du Canada and Ryan Roth of Team Spidertech p/b C10 achieved the next three positions.
Sutherland is now leading the stage 4 classifications with a healthy margin of 19 seconds over Hugo Houle of Team Spidertech p/b C10.
Christian Meier of Team Equipe Nationale Du Canada is holding the third position with a total deficit of 43 seconds on the race leader.
Svein Tuft, Mattew Cooke, Marc De Maar, Francisco Mancebo and Ryan Roth are holding the fourth, the fifth, the sixth, the seventh and the eighth positions respectively.
Team UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling is leading the stage classifications with Team Spidertech p/b C10 and Team Equipe Nationale du Canada holding the second and the third positions respectively.
