Sven-Göran Eriksson appointed new Leicester City manager
Sven-Göran Eriksson has been appointed the new manager of Championship side Leicester City, according to reports.
The Swede will take over from Paulo Sousa, who was sacked earlier today following a poor start to the season, with Leicester rooted to the bottom of the Championship and with only one win in the opening nine games.
Eriksson had agreed to become the new manager of Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal, but he will turn down the one-year deal worth £1.2million to formally take charge of Leicester on Monday on a two-year contract.
The former England manager shocked the football world when he joined Notts County last season as director of football, but left after only seven months at the job. He was also in charge for the Ivory Coast at this year’s World Cup in South Africa.
