Swabys Princess to build on her fresh strike - Williamhill.com Grand Prix - 1st Semi-final at Sunderland
Swabys Princess ran a blinder to score in the opening round of the Williamhill.com Grand Prix last weekend. P. Young’s dashing b***h is expected to build on her fresh win to present an equally good show in the first semi-final, taking place at Sunderland
on Saturday, July 7th.
Westmead Hawk’s daughter came to this track after a terrible defeat at Oxford, where she ended up fifth behind Blonde Fletch. She made a fine solo outing prior to the opening appearance, nevertheless, no one was expecting her to do some damage in the big
meeting.
Swabys Princess, however, produced a shocking result, taking revenge of her Oxford’s trouncing. Despite getting crowded at the first bend, the maverick b***h crushed Blonde Fletch and the rest to ensure the top rank by a neck’s distance. She wrapped up the
proceedings in only 39.56 seconds and an equally fine effort will be enough to earn her the glory this time.
The hound, however, will have to maintain the standards all the way through, as she is up against a quality line-up. Among her rivals are: Express Trend, Nyla Fantasy, Derrane Jake, Bridge Jane and Radiance. The 640 metres open race is due to start at 19:39
(GMT).
Derrane Jake is enjoying a purple patch and should be thereabouts, despite the fact that there are some powerful hounds in the crew. An all-round pace makes Express Trend a formidable opponent. The brindle b***h was well beaten by Derrane Jake in the previous
round, but would deliver a better effort tonight.
Bridge Jane will be out to cause an upset. She was a surprise winner in the previous round, when beating Pond Shefelia by a head’s distance. Nyla Fantasy’s chances of securing the top rank are not absolute, however, she will be able to make it to finale
for the second year in succession. Radiance will have to do things the hard way as usual.
Swabys Princess is not a consistent winner, but it is very difficult to ignore her chances especially after the recent strike. Express Trend is also in good position to unchain the shackles. Good luck to all the runners.
