Swampfire to glow the brightest in the Centaur Novices’ Handicap Hurdle
The Class 3 Centaur Novices’ Handicap Hurdle has pulled together a line-up among which every entry has an almost equal chance of winning the £7,507 prize money. The two mile and 110 yard race will be hosted by Cheltenham on Saturday, 17th November.
The most popular betting is on Buy Back Bob and Tanerko Emergy. Majority of the line-up has finished decently in the races they took part in most recently.
The four-year-old bay gelding, Swampfire, is one of the eighteen candidates for the race who has pulled together a profile that promises ranking in the frame of the first three positions.
He has been active during the current season in ten races, and grew more prominent towards the latter half of the season.
He started the new campaign with a fifth position in the Sunday 15th July Family Day AT Sligo Maiden Hurdle on 23rd May, 2012 at Sligo over two miles.
The race was won by, Sizing Italy.
His last four attempts of the season have seen him bagging two titles, scoring a second position in one and ending sixth in another.
Anabaa’s Irish bay gelding finished next to the best in the Family Day Out Maiden Hurdle on 6th August, 2012 at Cork race course over two miles.
Taking the title back home was, Run ‘N’ Jump.
The Irish bay gelding then started displaying his improved form as he claimed the winner’s prize money of the Follow Kilbeggan On Facebook Maiden Hurdle on 24th August, 2012 at Kilbeggan race course over two miles.
He was paired up with jockey, D. G. Hogan for the race, and the duo defeated Falcarragh by 8 ½ lengths.
Ending third in line was, Knockeenonthedoor.
After a sixth position, the Smith & Beach owned did not take long to switch back in form and won the 6 Rifles B Company Novices’ Hurdle on 30th October, 2012 at Taunton race course over two miles and a furlong.
It will be the first time during the new season that the Kilboy Estate bred will race at Cheltenham. The other participants of the race are equally competitive and can make things challenging.
