Jonny Bairstow, who replaced http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758, will take the gloves again. Kieswetter, however, retains his place in the 15-man ODI squad, which also shows signs of ECB selectors’ desire to manage the workload of their players ahead of the back-to-back Ashes series in 2013-14.
The bowling attack will be led by lanky http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lancashire-c806 paceman James Anderson and Stuart Broad will compliment him as the second seamer, with Jade Dernbach in reserve.
Anderson, meanwhile, will be only available for the first three One Day Internationals, and will be replaced by fellow seamer Stuart Broad for the remainder.
The Poms were whitewashed 5-0 last time they toured India for an ODI series, in October 2011. However, they have showed improvement since then, winning the one-day series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757, all these series were played outside of the subcontinent though.
National selector http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Geoffrey-Miller-c58870 said that they have picked up experienced squads for both the T20 and ODI series, adding that the itinerary provides an excellent opportunity to the players to prove their prowess in the tough sub-continental conditions.
"We have selected squads containing experienced international players, alongside younger players who have impressed playing for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Miller-c76318 while speaking to media reporters after naming the squads.
"The Twenty20 and ODI series provide an excellent opportunity for these players to show that they have learnt valuable lessons from the last ODI series against India and improved as players in sub-continent conditions," he added further.
The T20Is will be played in Pune and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 on December 20 and 22 respectively, and will be followed by ODIs in Rajkot, Kochi, Ranchi, Chandigarh and Dharamsala between January 11 and 27 next year.
