Swann will hold the key for England in Melbourne: Trott
England batsman Jonathan Trott has said that Graeme Swann will be the trump card for England in the Melbourne Test. Australia made a remarkable comeback in the Ashes series, when they defeated England in the Perth Test by a convincing 267-run margin. It
was a good turn around by the Australian team, as they were on the receiving end for most part of the series. In the Perth Test there were some serious issues with England’s batting, as their batsmen failed to make any significant impact in the match.
England were dismissed for less than 200 runs in both of innings, and none of their in form batsmen were able to play the Australian bowlers with ease. The English bowlers were effective in Australia’s first innings, but in the second innings they failed
to stop Michael Hussey scoring a prolific hundred. However England will not be that disappointed with their bowling in Perth, as their bowlers bowled some decent spells to keep the Aussie batsmen in check.
Graeme Swann is one bowler who has bowled exceptionally well in the Ashes series, and has consistently troubled the Australian batsmen in his spells. Swann did not bowl a lot of over’s in Perth, and was also not that effective in his spells. Jonathan Trott
defended Graeme Swann, and said that Swann has been a revelation for England during the past 18 months or so. Trott further said that whenever Swann has bowled for England he has taken vital wickets.
Graeme Swann has been a brilliant find for the English team, and is easily the best spinner in the team. England has found a genuine spinner after a long time, and the way Swann has been bowling in Test cricket, it seems that he has a bright future ahead
of him. Swann is the highest wicket taker for England in Test cricket this year , and has also won England a number of important Test matches. In the Perth Test, Swann took only two wickets and struggled to test the Australian batsmen in his spells.
Trott further said that in the Adelaide Test, the fast bowlers were backed by Graeme Swann and the way he bowled in that Test match was quite impressive.
