After the Swans left-back, Taylor, fractured his ankle in an EPL game against Sunderland which ruled him out from the remainder of the season, it was no hidden secret that Michael Laudrup was exploring the market to land in his replacement.
According to reports, the 26-year stroked a deal with the Swans, tying him up to the Liberty Stadium till the end of the 2012/13 campaign. He now awaits his agreement to be cleared by the Premier League.
The deal will serve to ease the selection woes of the manager, who ran short of his options for the left-back position in the wake of Taylor’s injury.
After joining the ranks of the Premier League team, Tiendalli let out his excitement over the prospect of working alongside the Danish football legend.
He revealed that he always wanted to play in the Premier League, and was confident of making an instant impact at the Welsh club.
“I'm looking forward to working under http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261 Laudrup, who is a massive name in football, and showing him what I have to offer,” he told the club’s official website.
“Playing in the Premier League is something I have always wanted to do - it's the best league in the world.”
However, the defender is expected to face a challenging task of filling in the shoes of Taylor, who has remained an influential figure in the Swans rearguard over the last couple of years.
Even though he was wary of the enormity of the task in hand, the Dutchman remained confident of playing his role effectively. He unearthed that he has currently set his focus on winning over the confidence of his manager during the training sessions, and
also set an eye on his team’s upcoming match against Aston Villa on Saturday.
“It would be great to play on Saturday against Aston Villa, but my concentration first and foremost is to impress the manager in training and get used to my new team-mates,” he added.
